When
dummy comes down, and the contract is hopeless, what do you do? One
thing you shouldn't do is to make faces or complaining about the
dummy. Another no-no would be to give up. For a recent example (for
advanced-to-expert level), please read my
new article .

This
lesson
is for Intermediate Level players that want to use the LAW of Total
Tricks immediately.
This
sheet was written with the help of Audrey Grant & David Lindop of
Better Bridge. Any teachers that wish to use this sheet for teaching
can do so as long as they reference the source. I've been using this
handout in my lessons for intermediates on "Bidding after partner
preempts."

Masterpoint
lists are usually scorned at. Yes, it is a thrill for many people to
make Life Master. But, even the all-time masterpoint leader, Paul
Soloway, says that masterpoints are just an "attendance
record." The more you play, the more points you can win.
However,
some masterpoint lists stand out. "Points won at major U.S.
National events" are compiled. In 2006, Bob Hamman won the most.
Even Bob (usually not one to care about such things) was quoted as
saying that the accomplishment was meaningful. Now, imagine, the most
points at Nationals for 10 years. To see the list, click
here. Jeff Meckstroth (pictured above) is the current leader. Will
anyone catch him this decade? You might recognize some of the names in
this lofty atmosphere.
